Fractional ownership platforms (FOPs) are gaining popularity in India as a means of investing in real estate.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) recently released a consulting paper with proposals to regulate these platforms. We look at some possible impact of these proposals on developers and investors.
Additionally, we feel independent third part asset managers can be help in the growth of FOPs and help SEBI ensure compliance of its regulations.
